XDC Internship Program is designed for both professional and non-professional divers who aspire to build a career in the recreational scuba diving industry. XDC Lebanon is actively seeking divers who are committed to investing time and effort in their scuba diving journey. This program offers candidates the opportunity to achieve prestigious qualifications at a professional level, such as
Dive Master or
Instructor.
Program Overview In exchange for working at XDC during the 2024 diving season (from May to November), interns gain hands-on experience across all aspects of scuba diving. Simultaneously, they have the chance to complete their education and pursue their chosen professional certification.
Duties Interns, whether trainee Dive Masters or Instructors, will engage in a wide range of responsibilities within the dive industry. These include:
- Welcoming new divers
- Assisting on dive boats operations
- Preparing and guiding fun dives
- Handling gear filling and servicing
- Managing dive shop operations
- Assisting with SCUBA courses
- Running and overseeing dive shop activities
As interns progress in their education, they take on additional responsibilities based on their level. This may include tasks like gas filling and mixing, as well as supervised course skills.
Learning Opportunities Interns benefit from the collective experience of the dive center staff. They directly interact with divers, drawing from their own experiences and progression. Upon successful completion of the program, interns emerge fully qualified and experienced to be part of a dive center staff, adhering to the international dive standards.
Learning Process The courses are meticulously designed and prepared based on decades of experience gathered by professional divers and international standards. Self-motivation is crucial for successfully completing the course, which encompasses both theoretical and practical aspects.
Valuable Intern Qualities To be a valuable member of the team, interns must possess the following qualities:
- Language Skills: Proficiency in both English and Arabic (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Basic Computer Skills: Familiarity with fundamental computer operations.
- Rescue Diver Certification: Either already obtained or in progress.
- People-Oriented: A friendly attitude and ability to interact effectively with others.
- Task-Oriented: Willingness to handle responsibilities and contribute to daily operations.
- Team Player: Openness to feedback and collaboration within the team.
- Professional Attitude: Maintaining a pleasant and professional behaviour.
